DIANE AMATO – ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I remember being mesmerized by the images in Life and National Geographic magazines when I was a kid. The ability to seize an image to evoke an emotion is what drives me to photograph today.
I love the way photography enables me to capture and freeze a moment in time. I’ll see something that I think would make a great picture because of the mood it projects, the repetition of shape, or the juxtaposition of objects and I’ll shoot it. Seconds later, the scene may be gone and I feel lucky to have been in the right place at the right time to photograph it.
