ABOUT STEVE McCLURE
Steve McClure has exhibited his works in group and solo shows throughout the south and northeast, including the Weatherspoon Museum in Greensboro, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the International Print Center in NYC. He is the recipient of two winter fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, a Special Editions Residency at the Lower East Side Printshop, and the AIM residency at the Bronx Musuem of Arts.
Mr. McClure was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1971. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1995. In Tampa he opened with Eric Breit the Willie Shaker Gallery, an artist run gallery. While living in Durham, North Carolina (1996- 2004), he produced the experimental noise show CMP (1998-2001) on WXDU 88.5 and reopened the Willie Shaker Gallery. Steve McClure currently live and works in Durham, NC. His current project is a series of prints, Across the Ice, inspired by arctic expeditions and the work of Selma Lagerlof.
